Nurses Scrubs Nairobi Kenya My Go-To Scrub Wear

Why Nurses Scrubs Nairobi Kenya My Go-To Scrub Wear

Finding scrubs that actually fit can be weirdly hard, especially if you don’t have that classic super-slim frame. A lot of brands seem like they were made only for people with really thin legs like the kind that don’t even brush against each other when you walk.

But what if you have an athletic build? You know, lean up top but muscular legs? Yeah, that’s me. I carry more weight in my thighs, and finding scrubs that flatter that kind of body… it’s not easy.

And don’t even get me started on those fit-and-flare tops that are supposed to give you an hourglass shape. I don’t know why, maybe it’s just me, but I really don’t think they look good on everyone. They certainly don’t do anything for me.

That’s why I like the scrubs from Nurses’ Scrubs Nairobi. Honestly, I stumbled on them kind of by accident, but I’ve been wearing them almost daily since. They’re affordable, which is huge especially when you wear scrubs every day and need multiple pairs and they’re cute. More importantly, they feel good on my body. But okay, let’s get into some details

Fabrics

Their fabric is listed as a polyester, rayon, and spandex blend. Now, when I first saw “spandex,” I thought it would be super stretchy. It’s not. Like, yes, there’s some give, but don’t expect leggings-level stretch. That said, the fabric feels durable.

It’s not waterproof, and it’s definitely not sweat-proof (believe me, I’ve had pit stains). But it does dry quickly. I work in dentistry, so I get sprayed sometimes with the air-water syringe don’t judge and while it’ll leave a mark for a bit, it dries pretty fast. So, not a deal-breaker.

One thing I’ve been impressed with, these scrubs hold up. I wash mine every week sometimes twice a week, depending on how gross the day was and I’ve washed some sets over 15 times. No pilling. No weird seams coming apart. They look just as good now as they did the first month.

Also, they come out of the dryer wrinkle-free, which I didn’t expect. They do have fold lines when they’re fresh out of the bag, but that goes away quickly. So overall? Fabric: good. Not perfect, but dependable.

Scrub Tops

Let’s talk about the Green Medical-Surgical scrub top—the one with the single chest pocket. It’s my favorite. Super easy to tuck in because there’s no bulk or pockets getting in the way.

And something about the simplicity of it just feels right. Clean. Sleek. It’s got a v-neck that’s not too deep—enough to feel open but not so low you’re adjusting it all day.

This is the Grey color.

I wear a size small in both tops and bottoms, and for the tops, I’d say they run a little big. If you’re between sizes, definitely size down. A lot of my classmates went with their larger size and ended up kind of swimming in them.

Anyway, back to the top it’s not that annoying fit-and-flare shape I don’t like, but it still manages to look, I don’t know, slightly feminine? In a nice way. Not too much. Just a gentle shape. It’s also long enough to tuck in without constantly coming untucked.

And yeah, when it’s not tucked, it’s a bit boxy. But when you tuck it in? Instant waist definition. Well, not like fashion-model definition, but it helps. That’s my go-to look. I don’t need scrubs to cling to me I just want them to work with my body, not against it.

Pants

Infinity pants

Okay, onto pants. The infinity scrubs pants are honestly really solid. They’ve got an elastic waistband with a drawstring, adjustable, thank goodness, and I do tie it pretty tight. The waistband runs a bit large, so if you don’t have larger thighs or hips, you might want to size down.

For me, a size small fits well around the hips and thighs, but yeah, the waist could be snugger. They’ve got two front pockets and a really functional side pocket on the right leg. That side pocket is clutch some of the other pants don’t have it, and I miss it when it’s gone.

These also have a little slit at the bottom of the leg, which makes the fabric fall nicely over your shoes. I like that. It’s a subtle thing, but it looks clean. I get the long version because I’m tall, and they’re the perfect length maybe a tad long without shoes, but with sneakers on, they’re just right.

No back pockets, which I don’t mind. And the rise is mid-to-high, just under the belly button. Not low-rise (thankfully), which is something I’ve had to deal with in other brands. If you hate low-rise like I do, you’ll appreciate this cut.

Joggers

Now the joggers these are kind of the crowd favorite. Everyone loves them. They’ve got a soft cuff at the bottom and a nice taper down the leg. Same waistband and drawstring as the infinity pants.

But here, you also get butt pockets. Plus a little hidden pocket on the inside of the waistband perfect for rings or small valuables. I mean, I rarely use it, but it’s a cool feature.

They’ve got a zippered pocket on the right leg, too. It doesn’t hold quite as much as the Infinity pants’ pocket, maybe because the jogger style is tighter through the leg, but it still works for most essentials.

I have these in maroon nurse scrubs, and honestly, it’s my favorite color. There’s something about it, it just feels polished without trying too hard.

FAQ

Are they true to size?
Sort of. If you’re between sizes, go down. Most people find their usual size fits, but the looser fit might throw you off if you’re not used to it.

Do the pants have enough pockets?
Definitely. The Infinity pants have two front, plus a great double side pocket. The joggers add back pockets and that little secret waistband pocket.

Are they waterproof? Sweat-proof?
Nope, not really. But they do dry quickly. I’ve sweat through them before, and it shows but not for long.

So yeah, if you’re ever Googling “scrub shop near me open now,” and you’re in Nairobi, just go check them out at Makina Market, Makina Road. I think they’re worth it.

Not perfect. But they’re the best I’ve found so far.
